Travel Journal: Batanes

Located in the northernmost province of the Philippines, it showcased breathtaking landscapes and magnificent sights that will leave you breathless.  Hills, valleys and green grasslands, towering cliffs and crystal clear waters…  some locations that may be straight out of Game of Thrones!  

Miles away from the hustle and bustle that is Metro Manila, Batanes provides a feeling of calmness where everything seems to stand still.  The serenity and peacefulness of the islands certainly radiates to the friendly locals.

As this is a short trip, gear of choice is my trusty Fujifilm X-T2.  While there’s a number of improvements over X-T1, the one I most appreciated is the updated censor and megapixel count up to 24.3mp.  Would have loved to have a full-frame sensor, but it would suffice for now.

Lighthouses can be seen around the island.  From the pictures above, managed to be at one up close, one beside Sabtang port, and one at a distance.

Besides lighthouses, Mt Iraya can be seen from around the island as well.

Overall, a relaxing and rejuvenating trip to take the stress out of the daily grind.  With the X-T2 on hand, can’t wait for another trip sooner than later.
